Situated approximately 20 miles north of the city of Manchester, Bacup is the highest town in East Lancashire so it provides many points for a scenic view across the stunning Rossendale Valley. It is not only rich in character but also easily accessible with the M66 and M65 motorway links leading to all destinations and towns close by, including Bury, Burnley and Rochdale.
Having previously been a mill town of the Industrial Revolution, Bacup was once described by English Heritage as the best preserved cotton mill town in England and the town centre is designated as a conservation area for its special architectural qualities.
