Local area

Royton is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, in Greater Manchester, England. It lies by the source of the River Irk, on undulating land at the foothills of the South Pennines.

Royton is an increasingly popular area to live due to the well regarded Primary & Secondary Schools within close proximity, the Countryside walks and views on offer and is within easy reach of the M60/M62 Motorway Networks.

Tandle Hill Park is probably the most visited area of Royton. The park contains a countryside centre (opened in 1994), picnic areas, children's play area and numerous trails and paths into the surrounding area.

Residential Estate Agent

Salary: £17,500.00 per year, there are opportunities to earn commission on top of your basic salary.

We are interested in receiving applications for a Residential Estate Agent to covering viewings across the Royton & Shaw areas.

We are seeking an ambitious outgoing person to join us as a trainee to learn from the bottom all aspects of our business and develop a career in Estate Agency. No previous estate agency experience is required as full training will be given. You should have a good knowledge of these areas in order to provide advice and guidance regarding the local amenities whilst on viewings. The post would be full time based out of our office in Royton. The main part of the role will be to conduct viewings across both the Royton & Shaw areas as well as providing office-based cover in either the Royton office or our Branch Support Team based at Salmon Fields, Royton when no viewings are required.

A driving licence and your own vehicle are both essential for this role. We will pay a car allowance of £200 per month - conditions apply. Mileage can be claimed at the personal rates of 45p per mile for the first 10,000 business miles and 25p over 10,000 business miles in the same tax year.

Working hours are as follows (during winter hours):- Mon 09:00am - 5:30pm, Tues – 09:00am-5:30pm, Weds – HALF DAY 09:00am-12:45pm, Thurs Day off, Fri 09:00am - 5:30pm, Sat – 10:00am -4:00pm, Sun – 10:00am - 4:00pm

Weekday hours are adjusted slightly in Summer to start at 10:30am and finish at 7:00pm and will be explained at interview. This allows viewings to be undertaken later into the evenings during the summer months. You must be available to work every Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm.

The firm operates a 'promote from within' philosophy and there are opportunities for career development for the right person. Many of our current Branch Managers have started out in this role and progressed their careers with us.

If your application passes the first assessment stage you will then be asked to submit a 2minute video of yourself explaining who you are, your background, why you would like the job and why you think you are suitable for it.

If you are interested in this post please submit by e-mail a current C.V together with a covering letter outlining your suitability for this role to Michelle Stansfield mstansfield@ryder-dutton.co.uk. Candidates who submit a cover letter will be given priority over those who do not submit a cover letter.
