Royton is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, in Greater Manchester, England. It lies by the source of the River Irk, on undulating land at the foothills of the South Pennines.
Royton is an increasingly popular area to live due to the well regarded Primary & Secondary Schools within close proximity, the Countryside walks and views on offer and is within easy reach of the M60/M62 Motorway Networks.
Tandle Hill Park is probably the most visited area of Royton. The park contains a countryside centre (opened in 1994), picnic areas, children's play area and numerous trails and paths into the surrounding area.
