Whalley is a large village situated at the heart of the Ribble Valley below Whalley Nab and on the banks of the River Calder. Whalley Abbey has ruins dating back to the 14th Century and other long standing buildings including one in particular Mortimers sold in circa 2004 that had an original Priest Hole!

King Street runs through the heart of the village towards Clitheroe with many small roads off leading to small nearby villages. There is an exceptional Primary school and renowned Oakhill College and Nursery that offer local education and excellent bus and rail transport links lead on through to Clitheroe and Manchester.

The village shuts its roads for Whalley Pickwick Night held early December every year for an event that draws crowds from wide reaching areas for a Dickensian themed evening where many local shopkeepers get in to the spirit of things.

There is nearby cuisine and fine dining as the area is well served with top class restaurants and hotels including the Michelin Star Northcote Manor, the James’ Place chain and several other highly regarded venues.

It is clear to see why Whalley is one of the major property hotspots in the North of England.

Sales Negotiator

Salary: £18,000 pa plus commissions

We are seeking an outgoing and proactive person to join our team based at our Mortimers branch in Whalley. Outgoing and energetic you will enjoy meeting new people and be fully committed to delivering the highest levels of customer service through exceptional communication and relationship building skills.

Ideally experienced in a similar role within estate agency or similar, (knowledge of Reapit would be advantageous). You will be able to work under pressure and be used to working successfully to deadlines.

The post is full time and the hours of work are Monday to Friday 9:00am-5:30pm with a one hour lunch break and alternate Saturdays 10:00am- 2:00pm.

Day to day duties will include:

• Registering both vendors and applicants • Collating information about each property and arranging for photographs to be taken and general administration • Lead chasing – following up Market Appraisals, and viewings, providing feedback and being able to communicate feedback to all parties • Contacting vendors and providing up to date advice on the marketing of the property as well as market conditions • Negotiating offers with both vendors and purchasers and seeing transactions through to completion in line with required Estate Agency procedures • Monitoring of sales - as they proceed and liaise with all interested parties including mortgage brokers, solicitors, surveyors and other estate agents • AML – Regulations and ID checks.
