Accrington is within the Hyndburn borough of Lancashire and has easy access to neighbouring towns such as Blackburn and Burnley and is only 20 miles away from the nearest City Centre – Manchester, making it a great town for motorway links and commuters.
Accrington is renowned, historically, for its cotton and textile industry amongst the infamous Accrington Nori Brick and Accrington Stanley Football Club. It’s a great town for families offering numerous large parks such as Oak Hill Park – an award winning park where you will find Howarth Art Gallery and a tea room, Peel Park which is situated at the foot of The Coppice providing great nature walks and has amazing views over the whole of the local area.
Adjoining Accrington is Oswaldtwistle, this is home to Oswaldtwistle Mills, a former textile mill, attracting visitors from far and wide. Rhyddings Park compliments the town well. The Civic Arts Centre and Theatre also attracts many visitors providing entertainment for all the family from local amateur dramatic groups to top performers such as Jason Manford and John Bishop.
