Great Harwood is a town with an industrial heritage, and landmarks such as Mercer Hall Leisure Centre and the Town Hall Clock still stand today. The town also boasts local shops, supermarkets, bus networks, primary schools, recreational areas, and is within easy access of the M65 which leads to the major motorway networks. Open countryside is easily accessible on foot with stunning views of Pendle hill and the Ribble Valley.
Great Harwood also has Great Harwood rovers junior football team with ages from 5 upwards, a well maintained 9 hole golf course and a well respected cricket club playing in the Lancashire league. Currently there are new sports facilities being built and numerous housing developments being created.
